Internal Medicine
Endoscopy of the airways:
This procedure is performed to diagnose respiratory problems in horses. An endoscope is used to carefully examine the inside of the airways.
Gastroscopy of the stomach:
A gastroscopy is used to detect stomach ulcers in horses. A flexible camera is used to examine the stomach to identify any ulcers or other abnormalities.
Treatment and Surgery for Colic:
Our clinic offers comprehensive care for horses with colic, including initial care, diagnostics, conservative treatments with IV fluids or oil, and, if necessary, colic surgery and hospitalization.
Treatment of esophageal obstruction:
In cases of esophageal obstruction, the horse’s esophagus is flushed; this can be done either while the horse is standing or under general anesthesia, depending on the severity of the obstruction.
Research on weight loss and changes in eating habits:
We conduct a thorough examination of horses that are losing weight, have a poor appetite, or have loose stools to determine the cause and provide treatment.
Diagnosis of bladder stones:
Using specialized techniques, we diagnose bladder stones and offer appropriate treatments to restore your horse’s well-being.
Thoracic and Abdominal Ultrasound:
Breast and abdominal ultrasound exams provide us with a detailed view of the horse's internal organs.
Foals with diarrhea:
Medical evaluation and treatment to determine the cause and prevent dehydration.
Orthopedics
Pre-Purchase Inspection:
We conduct comprehensive pre-purchase examinations to assess a horse’s health and suitability before it is purchased. This includes a thorough inspection and evaluation of the horse’s physical condition.
Diagnosis of lameness problems:
For horses with lameness issues, we offer advanced diagnostic services, including X-rays and ultrasounds, to accurately determine the cause of the lameness and develop a targeted treatment plan.
Treatment of joint and tendon problems:
We treat joint problems, tendon injuries, and neck and back problems using a variety of modern techniques. This includes infiltrations, as well as advanced therapies such as injections with IRAP (Interleukin Receptor Antagonist Protein), PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), and stem cells, all of which are designed to promote healing and recovery.
Surgery
Arthroscopy:
Arthroscopic surgery to remove loose fragments, such as those associated with osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD), to reattach cartilage flaps if necessary, to perform a diagnostic examination of the joint, and to treat inflamed or septic joints.
Arthrodesis:
We surgically fuse the joint to relieve pain and provide lasting stability when the joint is severely damaged or cannot be restored to full function.
Colic Surgery and Abdominal Surgeries:
We perform a variety of emergency and elective abdominal surgeries, including colic surgery, inguinal hernia repair, correction of uterine torsion, and cesarean sections.
Neutering:
We offer both open and closed inguinal castration, including treatment for cryptorchidism, in which the undescended testicles are removed.
Correction of Postural Abnormalities in Foals:
Our specialists treat leg alignment issues in foals, such as bow legs, knock knees, and grass foot, to promote proper leg alignment.
Treatment of umbilical hernias and umbilical infections in foals:
Surgical correction of umbilical hernias, treatment of umbilical inflammation, and repair of congenital inguinal hernias to prevent health problems in foals.
Tenoscopy:
A minimally invasive surgical procedure for treating tendon problems, which provides a detailed view of the tendons. Tenoscopy can be used, among other things, to remove osteochondromas and “distal radial spikes,” to assess and treat tendon tears, and to perform diagnostic examinations of both the digital flexor tendon sheath and the carpal tendon sheath.
Fracture Treatment:
Treatment of bone fractures using osteosynthesis, in which the bone fragments are fixed in place to ensure proper healing.
Upper Respiratory Tract Surgery:
Specialized surgeries such as the treatment of cornage (laryngeal hemiplegia) and the correction of dorsal displacement of the soft palate, as well as procedures for epiglottic cysts, epiglottis entrapment, and other upper airway problems.
Sinusitis Treatment:
Treatment of sinus problems through sinusotomy, sinusoscopy, bone flaps, or trepanations, in which the sinus is opened and cleaned to effectively resolve inflammation, pressure buildup, or infected material.
Dental surgery (including EORTH, dentigerous cysts, and tooth extractions):
Treatment of severe dental and jaw problems by removing affected teeth, cysts, or inflammatory lesions to relieve pain and restore healthy oral function.
Wound Care:
Surgical care for complex wounds.
Bone cysts:
Treatment of fluid-filled bone cavities, in which the cyst is opened, cleaned, and treated using arthroscopic or surgical techniques to reduce pain and restore bone structure.
Laparoscopy:
Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries performed on the standing horse, allowing us to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with minimal recovery time, such as ovariectomy, treatment of cryptorchidism, mesh closure of the vaginal rings, adhesiolysis, closure of the nephrosplenic space or the foramen epiploicum, and removal of bladder stones.
Foot neurectomy:
A surgical procedure in which a selective nerve resection or an operation on the cheche ligament is performed to relieve pain and improve musculoskeletal function when conservative therapy is ineffective.
Partial osteotomies – tubular bone fractures and bone sequestra:
Surgical removal of loose or damaged bone fragments, such as those resulting from fractures of the styloid process or bone sequestra, to reduce pain and promote healthy healing of the surrounding tissue.
Hoof pathologies – perforating sole lesions (“street nail”), hoof cancer, keratomas:
Treatment of severe hoof abnormalities in which deep-penetrating wounds, proliferative conditions such as hoof cancer, and space-occupying keratomas are debrided, removed, or surgically corrected to reduce pain and restore normal hoof function.
Spinal Surgery (Kissing Spines):
Surgical treatment of interspinal impingement in which excess bone is removed or the spinous processes are split to reduce pain and improve the mobility of the back.
Urinary Tract Surgery and Penile Amputation:
Treatment of conditions affecting the bladder, urethra, and penis in which obstructions, infections, or tumors are surgically corrected to relieve pain and restore urine flow.
Eye Surgery – enucleation, tarsorrhaphy, conjunctival flap, cyclosporine implants:
Treatment of various eye conditions in which the eye, eyelids, or surrounding tissue are surgically corrected to relieve pain, preserve vision, or control chronic inflammation.
Reproductive Surgery – Caslick procedure, rectovaginal fistulas (cloaca), cesarean section, dystocia, and perinatal injuries:
Surgical treatment of complications related to pregnancy, birth, and the birth canal to stabilize the mare and the foal, repair injuries, and maintain safe reproductive function.
Skin pathologies—sarcoids, melanomas, etc.:
Treatment of skin tumors and other abnormalities in which lesions are removed, frozen, treated with a laser, or treated topically to control growth, irritation, and recurrence as effectively as possible.
